Magazines

I take pride in producing well-organized, easy-to-understand content and have honed these skills as a magazine editor, and by writing for more than 30 periodicals ranging from Georgia Straight to The Globe and Mail.

PUBLIC SECTOR • EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS

Public perceptions of any enterprise are built from the inside out. For employees to meet public expectations, they need to embrace the organization’s values and understand its goals. The larger the organization the more essential it is to have effective internal communications that acknowledge excellent performance and inform staff about new directions.

DITLSet

The federal government is Canada’s largest employer. To communicate with its employees, Treasury Board’s Leadership Network developed A Day in the Life of the Public Service of Canada as an on-line publication and distributed it via the government intranet to 250,000 employees across the country.

As editor and senior writer for the publication, I planned issues, coordinated production, and contributed content on themes including Recruitment, Diversity, Workplace Well-being, Learning and Development, and E-government.

CORPORATE SECTOR • CHANGE MANAGEMENT

A controlled-circulation business magazine devoted to managing change, Ways was delivered to the top executives of mid- to large-sized companies across Canada.

WaysSet

As editor and a key member of the team that launched and published Ways, I named and designed the publication, developed editorial themes, managed creative teams and oversaw production. I also wrote editorials, corporate profiles and interviews with best-selling business writers.
