These days it seems all content ends up on the Internet. More and more, however, I am engaged to create original content for the web and adapt the material for print pieces when they're required. I have written web content for businesses, union organizations, and for government and public agencies including the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.


 ORGANIZED LABOUR • MEMBER ENGAGEMENT & PUBLIC AWARENESS

Canada’s Building Trades Unions (CBTU) is an alliance of 14 international unions that represent more than 500,000 construction workers in Canada. Faced with strong non-union competition and a wave of retiring members, the alliance decided it needed to increase its public profile and take a more active role in recruiting young Canadians for careers in the skilled trades.

Working with gordongroup marketing + communications, I researched and wrote an extensive new website including profiles of each of the 14 allied unions, and career information about more than 60 construction trades and occupations.


PUBLIC SECTOR • ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund (GMF) provides grants and loans for environment initiatives in Canadian communities. Each year the fund recognizes the most innovative and successful projects through its Sustainable Community Awards. FCM engaged me to write on-line case studies about winning projects each year from 2010 to 2015.
